Yankee Walkers Hosts NEHT Trail Ride

Come join us for a fun trail ride and membership drive in the beautiful trail system of LeGrand Reynolds Horsemen’s Area in Exeter, RI. Choose your trail lengths of 8 miles, 10 miles, or 15 miles with refreshments and lunch to follow the ride. This trail ride is open to all horses and riders. Come ride, meet new friends, and join our club. Members pay $15 and Non-Members pay $25, so join before your ride! Registration begins at 8:30 am and ride out is from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Dry Camping is available. Please bring proof of negative Coggins. Please register by April 29 for the lunch and ride. Back by popular demand is our silent auction as a fundraiser for our non-profit club. Please bring new or gently used items to donate to our auction and, of course, cash or checks to pick up interesting equine items at the auction. Remember one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.

We will also hold our Annual Meeting to elect officers, review financial records, and plan events for the year. Cowboy Rendezvous – Stepping Stones Ranch, RI

Come enjoy a weekend of Cowboy and Cowgirl activities with your horse. Sign up for the Outlaw Posse Ride, or perhaps a more leisurely Poker Ride is your style. Is your horse great with Versatility Challenges or Sorting Cows? Come enjoy the rendezvous and see whether you and your horse have true grit.

Gary Lane: Level 2, Gaiting Riding Clinic

With back to back clinics, Gary Lane will improve the riding skills of any gaited horse and human team from beginner to advanced horse and riders. To register for the Level 2 session, all riders must have completed Level 1 with Gary. During the Level 2 training of his gaited riding education, Gary will teach more advanced elements of relaxation, rhythm, relaxation, connection, impulsion, proper straightness and bend, and collect. Gary Lane: Level 1, Gaiting Riding Clinic

Gary Lane is returning to New England for his fourth clinic, back by popular demand. During Level 1 training of his gaited riding education, Gary will teach the elements of recognizing proper gait, methods of relaxing the horse, and rein position. Students will receive both the academic training and the practical techniques in the saddle to education both the mind and body for optimal riding results.  Auditors are welcome June 22, 23, 24 and 25 – the cost to audit is $25.00 per day.   For more information contact Jody Pellecchia at email:

Essex County Trail Association’s 21thAnnual Equine Expo & Paraphernalia Sale

The Yankee Walkers Club will join the Essex County Trail Association for their Equine Expo sale being held at the Topsfield Fair Grounds on the last Saturday in April 30, 2016. The hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the arena. Come donate an item or buy items to support our club. If you have an item to donate and are planning on attending the Annual Banquet on February 14th, please bring the item with you, so that we will have time to list and price it for the table. Remember all donations are tax deductible.
