Annual Meeting for 2018

Yankee Walkers convened for the Annual 2018 Meeting on March 25 at the Ashworth by the Sea in Hampton, NH. At the Annual Meeting a new slate of officers were elected: Leo Rogers, President; Loren Stevens, First Vice President; Jody Pellecchia, Treasurer; Sandy Rogers, Secretary; and Julie Dillon, Second Vice President. Additionally, club members voted in the revised 2018 Bylaws for the club and reviewed events for the year, including trail rides, clinics, and horse shows.

2017 Awards Banquet

Yankee Walkers celebrated the 2017 year of events at our Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting at the beautiful Ashworth by the Sea in Hampton Beach, NH. Our 2017 trail mileage awards went to Sandy Rogers riding Chili, Champion; Leo Rogers riding Brave Heart, Reserved Champion, Cristen Langella, riding Figgy in Third Place; Vinny Langella, riding Koppar in Fourth Place, and Philis Hewey riding Pete as honorable mentioned. Additionally, Sandi Molinari and Smoke won our versatility award for Cowboy Mounted Shooting.

Awards Banquet

On February 12, Yankee Walkers celebrated our 2016 Awards Banquet at Aprile’s European Restaurant in North Chelmsford, MA. Yankee Walkers members braved to storm to enjoy the afternoon together and plan events for the 2017 calendar.

Christmas Trail Ride with Bay State Trail Riders

Club members enjoyed the last formal trail ride of the season, joining the Christmas ride with the Bay State Trail Riders in Groton, MA. The riders all enjoyed homemade chicken stew, salads, delicious desserts and a Yankee gift swap after the beautiful trail ride. 

Gaited Horse Instructor

Julie Dillon, of Horsefeathers Academy, specializes in helping gaited horses and their rides become the perfect team. Whether you and your horse enjoy spending time on the trails, going horse camping, or learning gaited dressage, Julie has the experience and education to bring your equine skills to the next level. Julie is a certified instructor with both Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) and Certified Horsemenship Association (CHA) and specializes in adult learners. She is passionate about teaching and has traveled around the country as a clinician and lecturer giving lessons and furthering her own education.
